Tigers have taken part in the 'climate change challenge' at Howsham Mill. A national competition to educate people in providing affordable green renewable energy for everyone. A great day was had by all!

Malton School's Science Lab!

Tigers had a fantastic afternoon with Mr Rumney, from Malton School, learning about 'light' and 'space'. The best bit was when he blew up the balloons- they made a massive BANG. Mrs Mortimer was too scared to come and look! It was awesome!

This week we have had some very interesting visitors. The children were 'wowed' by the birds flying around our hall. Thank you to Danny and Rachel for bringing them in!

Our whole school performance of ‘The Disgruntled Snowman’ was fantastic!

Singing, dancing, narration, tenor horn playing and all  acting was utterly amazing. Our children are so talented and really did show it during this great performance.

Thank you to Mrs Peers , Mrs Miller  and Mrs Wheldon for their hard work in making it a super show! Mrs Marshall and Mrs Smith also worked really hard to ensure the scenery and costumes were of the same quality as the  singing and acting.
Can’t wait for next year!

Welcome to our school

Mrs MitchellMrs Mitchell

Welcome to our fabulous school – known as ‘North Yorkshire’s best kept secret’ – and thank you for showing an interest.

Judged in 2012 as ‘good’ by Ofsted with an ‘outstanding and exceptionally rich curriculum’, Leavening Community Primary School also has exceptional outdoor learning opportunities and sports facilities, small class sizes, offers a range of after school clubs and combines dynamic teaching with excellent pastoral care. Our thriving nursery and Early Years provision caters for children aged 3 to 11 years.

I have had the pleasure of being the head teacher here since September 2012 and have to say that Leavening Community Primary School is the perfect village school. A real sense of community and belonging exists here. I am excited to be building on the fantastic opportunities that our children already enjoy, ensuring their childhoods are further enriched through excellence in learning and outstanding care.

I would warmly welcome visits to the school so you can see for yourself just how wonderful it really is. Thank you.

Sian Mitchell, Headteacher
